Employee killed when shoppers stampede as Long Island store opens
NEW YORK–Police say a Wal-Mart worker has died after being trampled by a throng of unruly shoppers shortly after the Long Island store opened today.
Nassau County police say the 34-year-old worker was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at about 6 a.m., an hour after the store opened.
Police also say a 28-year-old pregnant woman was taken to a hospital for observation.
Wal-Mart Stores Inc., in Bentonville, Ark., would not confirm the reports of a stampede during the day-after-Thanksgiving bargain hunting, but said a "medical emergency" caused them to close the store.Second Article:

Nassau County police said the 34-year-old man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at about 6 a.m. ET, an hour after the store in Valley Stream on Long Island opened.
A police statement said a throng of shoppers "physically broke down the doors, knocking him to the ground." The exact cause of death "will be determined by the medical examiner's office," the police stated.
A co-worker said the clerk was "bum-rushed by 200 people," according to the New York Daily News. "They took the doors off the hinges," said Jimmy Overby. "He was trampled and killed in front of me. They took me down too ... I literally had to fight people off my back."
Police added that "a 28-year-old pregnant female was also transported to an area hospital for observation."
Shopper Jessica Keyes told the Daily News that she saw the woman being knocked down near where the worker lay dying.
According to Keys, when paramedics arrived they told the woman that "there's nothing we can do. The baby is gone."
But a police spokesman later said both the woman and her unborn child were doing fine.
Other shoppers said people kept entering the store as emergency crews attended the woman and store clerk.
"They were working on him, but you could see he was dead," the Daily News quoted shopper Halcyon Alexander as saying. "People were still coming through."
"They're savages," shopper Kimberly Cribbs said of the crowd. "It's sad. It's terrible."
Police added that three other shoppers " suffered minor injuries and were transported to area hospitals."
Ellen Davis, a spokeswoman at National Retail Federation, said the group knew of no other incident where a retail employee has died working on the day after Thanksgiving.
Wal-Mart is working closely with police, company spokesman Dan Fogleman said. “The safety and security of our customers and associates is our top priority,” Fogleman said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with them and their families at this difficult time.”Snipets:
"Kimberly Cribbs, who witnessed the stampede, said shoppers were acting like 'savages.... When they were saying they had to leave, that an employee got killed, people were yelling 'I've been online since yesterday morning. They kept shopping.'"
And if that wasn't disgusting enough, according to shoppers, they kept on trampling the paramedics, too, while they were trying to work on him and the pregnant woman.

This is why I HATE Black Friday....It's not that hard to orderly go into a store without killing people. It's just a store, it will always be there. Every year something happens to somebody on Black Friday, and it shouldn't.
It aggrivates me that a worker who was probably up early just to come in to help out with the day, had to die because people are too foolish to enter the store at a reasonable pace they would any other day, no matter how fast you run to the item that's on sale, it's still going to be on sale. For christ sakes. Chill OUT people. It makes me worry that anyone who I happen to know that works in retail every year and no one should have to worry.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------Anyway moving on with life....
Thanksgiving went rather well had Cinnamon Rolls in the morning around 10am and around 3:00 went to visit my mom's cousins son's kids (Wow that's a mouthful)....who I haven't seen in six years. My family was here and Lance came over for dinner as well. We had some of the best mashed potatoes ever, pillsbury croissants, turkey, stuffing, sweet corn, beans, and cranberries. (Which I did not eat) Then there was a cake mom found that is actually a series of cupcakes rather than one single cake which was pretty good. Things all settled down around 9 PM and I spent the rest of the night surfing the internet, and then when I got bored of the PC I watched the movie Secret Window until I was too tired to keep my eyes open.
This morning when I woke up I cleaned up the basement since the cats stuff has been moved down there and the lovely evil kitten has a field day with the litter box and there was litter EVERYWHERE....I swept all that up and cleaned the cat box and all that fun stuff.
Since then I've been sitting in my room waiting for anyone at all to come home and chat online while I do some of my bowling homework.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not sure if anything really exciting has happened in the past month or so....I don't know. Things are pretty much going on as they had been. I finally got the Death Note movie and Volume 3 of the anime so I've been watching those...my favorite character is indeed L
..and I'm pretty sure I made it to the next round of NCC Idol. They told me they would call me back.
Anyway...if I think of something else I will add it....Till next time-
